Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne are dragged into the Quantum Realm, along with Hope’s parents and Scott’s daughter Cassie. Together they must find a way to escape, but what secrets is Hope’s mother hiding? And who is the mysterious Kang?
When this movie came out, earlier this year, a lot of people who went to see it were negative about it. It had a flimsy story, bad special effects, it wasn’t funny enough and so on!
So I was very afraid to watch it, though I was excited at the same time because a new supervillain was to be introduced who would replace Thanos in the future of the MCU. So when it finally came on Disney+ I had to see what all the negative banter was about… and let’s be honest, there’s not a single MCU movie or tv-show I wouldn’t watch! Even the bad ones (let’s be honest, that final Thor movie and the Eternals movie were two of the worst instalments in the Marvel stable!)
So expecting another ‘bad’ one I went in… and damn… I don’t get why this movie is so ill received! Okay, granted… it is not the best MCU movie (since Endgame the quality has diminished a little bit!) but Quantumania has a lot to offer… the story starts out a little flimsy as they said but once they are in the Quantum Realm, the movie really becomes a great sci-fi story. It even has some Star Wars: A New Hope vibes!
Kang is a ruthless and conscienceless villain that will have a big impact on the MCU in the following phases. The next Avenger movie is called ‘The Kang Dynasty’ and a(nother) variant of Kang will be in Loki season 2 (will release later this year)
So for me this was a great movie and I sure hope we’ll get to see more of the Ant-Man and his family!
