Review:
This will probably be the shortest review I will write… well, I will try to explain myself a little, of course… but this is a bad movie… it’s not scary in any way and they call this a horror movie… mèh!
This was based upon the book by Grady Hendrix, and I have to admit I can’t compare book and movie because I haven’t read it yet… (I still plan on reading it but not thanks to this adaptation because that could have set me off of the idea)

It’s an eighties teen drama, coming of age kind of movie with a teenage girl changing (well, teens tend to change when growing up, so there’s that allegory) into a vixen when she’s being possessed by some demon, that haunts her during the night. The demon followed Gretchen Lang home after she and her friend, Abby Rivers, went into the decrepit place where it lived, in the woods.
Completely possessed by the demon, Gretchen starts alienating herself from her friends and even begins to taunt them, prey on their weaknesses.
And the only one that can stop her is Abby with the help from a bodybuilding Jezus freak… together they plan on exorcising the demon from Gretchen.
Okay, story 8/10! But then there’s the acting… the only playing a good role is Amiah Miller as Gretchen Lang… she’s convincing enough to get the rating a bit higher… but they should have used her more and not added that crazy religious nutbag… I’m sorry but that guy just wasn’t convincing nor funny (if that was what the director wanted to achieve, it failed!)
So yeah… bad movie! A missed opportunity!Hopefully (and my faith in that is huge) the book is much better!
