Review:

1,2 Freddy’s coming for you!

Whatever you do… don’t fall asleep!

Tina has dreams about a man with knives for fingers and his face all burned and scarred… and Tina is not alone… so does Nancy, her best friend.

When Tina is killed in her dream by this creep, she dies for real… all cut up and bloody… her boyfriend Rod gets blamed for the murder, but Nancy knows the truth. Of course, no one listens to her.

3,4 better lock your door!

Wes Craven’s movie was a whole new take on the slasher genre and surprised viewers by killing one of the main characters in the first part of the movie. The movie also introduced an actor who would become one of the biggest stars, Johnny Depp… (his death scene is still one of the best and one of the most gruesome ever show in a horror movie…

5,6 grab a crucifix!

This movie also saved the studio, New Line Cinema, from bankruptcy… and it was nicknamed ‘The House that Freddy built’!

7,8 Gonna stay up late!

This was also the first movie in a series with Robert Englund portraying the iconic character of Freddy Krueger. And he provided so many great one liners in this one… (‘I’m your boyfriend now, Nancy!’)

9.10 Never sleep again!

And who doesn’t know that memorable children’s song… and Charles Bernstein’s eerie soundtrack is still one of my favourites…

And remember… Whatever you do, don’t fall asleep!
