Synopsis:

In the distant future, the crew of the commercial spaceship Nostromo are on their way home when they pick up a distress call from a distant moon. The crew are under obligation to investigate and the spaceship descends on the moon afterwards. After a rough landing, three crew members leave the spaceship to explore the area on the moon. At the same time as they discover a hive colony of some unknown creature, the ship’s computer deciphers the message to be a warning, not a distress call. When one of the eggs is disturbed, the crew realizes that they are not alone on the spaceship and they must deal with the consequences.

Made in the year I was born and that feels special to me 😅

This is one of those movies (movie series actually) that I love rewatching. This movie stands the test of time better than most!

Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) sets a high bar for women heroins as she is the star of the movie, even though her role only has real meaning in the second half of the movie. It’s even in the sequels she’s even more of a badass than in this one…

The Alien creature is still one of thé best creations done for a horror/sci-fi movie but again, we don’t see that much of it in this one (heightens the suspense) and it’s in the sequels we get a better picture of it… what’s the real horror in this part is the introduction of that face hugger and the chestburster (with a genuine shocked reaction by the actors, as they weren’t informed on what to expect when it breaks for)

I love this movie and the entire franchise, so I’ll be rewatching every single movie (also the AvP’s)
