In an isolated Oregon town, a middle-school teacher and her sheriff brother become embroiled with her enigmatic student, whose dark secrets lead to terrifying encounters with an ancestral creature.

Review:

A lonely boy has a secret that’s hiding in his own home, at school he’s being bullied and he looks worse for wear everyday. What is going on with him? His teacher, just moved back to this little Oregon mining town and currently living with her brother, tries to take care for him but stumbles upon his secret.

This is a very dark and very gritty movie that doesn’t shy away from showing some gruesome scenes like torn apart bodies and decaying corpses. Even children aren’t safe for the dark atmosphere in this movie.

The kid that plays Lucas is phenomenal in his part! The special effects on the creature (Wendigo) are really good! I truly liked this movie and it definitely deserves a cult status!

This is folk horror at its best!
