Review:
A new bunch of horrifying, delicious and funny stories bundled in this fourth Creepshow graphic novel. Ten tales of suspense of and horror and I will tell you all about them, tale by tale.
1 Tale as old as Time
- Scenario: Jeremy artist
- Illustrator: Eduardo Risso
A beautiful woman enters a party and has set her eyes on her prey, an old man in a wheelchair. They marry quickly after and she is (supposedly) surprised he is very rich. But even the rich have great taste in women, sometimes you can expect this to be very literally.
2 The Little House on the Left
- Scenario: Rosie Knight
- Illustrator: Oliver Ono
Alfred needs a place to stay and he finds one for a fair price. But there’s a warning, don’t enter the little shed next to the house. Alfred has other things on his mind and has no plans on searching the shed, not for anything! But while he’s busy with his nefarious plans, a creek from the shed and some disturbances could change that idea, but did he forget the given warning?
3 Keep your antennas up
- Scenario: Rachel Pinnelas
- Illustrator: Gabriel H. Walta
A scientist is making progress on the organism on how ants communicate but she needs her workers to continue their work, no leave and no excuses. But the ants seem to be more eager to change things just a little more. Reminds me somewhat to ‘They’re creeping up on you!’
4 Par for the Curse
- Scenario: Ted Raimi & Thomas Krajewski
- Illustrator: Ryan Carr
Even the luckiest man, with the best job, prettiest wife, biggest house and never a miss in his golfing games runs out of luck one day. But what if all this is caused by a curse and there’s a way to stop it, would that really end the streak of bad luck or make it worse? (Some hints of ‘Thinner’)
5 Short Order
- Scenario: Alex Paknadel
- Illustrator: Amilcar Pinna
Scott is invited to an elite dining experience where no one knows what they get served. Afterwards he is completely overtaken by the dish and wants to know what it was. Loosing everything he goes on a quest until he finds the secret ingredient. And then a new invite comes his way…
6 Will you please be Quiet?
- Scenario: Philip Fracassi
- Illustrator: Robert Carey
Never underestimate your elders and please could you stop the noise, they are trying to watch the movie! Lucky for those three boys, they waited till they left before unleashing the hunger. Suits them right not to be quiet during the movie!
7 Wheels on the Truck
- Scenario: Sina Grace
- Illustrator: Rampn Villalobos
Darren Walker gets a new job and will become one of the tires of a truck, 12 solid hours, via a link to his brain and body. It does have the necessary side effects but it’s all worth it when he meets ‘night shift colleague’ Laura. But an accident and a truth shatter many dreams a man can have.
8 Night of the American Boyfriend
- Scenario: Joel Farrelly
- Illustrator: Ryusei Yamada
A very traditional Japanese man sees her daughter dating an American and isn’t all too happy about it. While the boyfriend is calling a friend to complain he steps on something outside, something life changing and very hungry-looking!
9 Artificial Ignorance
- Scenario: Joshua Williamson
- Illustrator: Andrea Milana
A touch of body horror and a mad scientist who thinks he has found a way to create things by stealing them from others. But is it ever enough? What more can one need or create?
10 When I am alone
- Scenario / illustrator: Tradd Moore
Katie is all alone at home, pondering her looks and mind and getting ready for bed. But a hand reaches out. Will it hurt her or help her relieve her loneliness? (Bit of a bizarre tale, this one).
