Robin (Hood) of Loxley

Movie synopsis:

A war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown.

Review:

This movie is a new (slightly modern) take on the legend of Robin Hood. When Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) gets back after being sent off to fight Arabs in the third crusade, he sees he has lost everything: his manor, Nottingham is in disarray and his love Marian has found another man, Will (Jamie Dornan).

Together with ‘John’ (Jamie Foxx) he starts a riot against the Sheriff of Nottingham (Ben Mendelsohn) and he learns of a conspiracy to overthrow the King of England and its throne.

A very (surprisingly) good movie. a lot of action, good acting and one of the sexiest men alive (sorry but he is) in this movie (Jamie Dornan for those wondering 🤣)

The tongue-in-cheek fun part was also the ‘modern’ ways of warfare in the movie (crossbows like machine guns or rioting people like modern day rallies)

Is it a perfect movie? Definitely not! Enough little mistakes to be found but this was a great Sunday afternoon (family) movie with action, jokes and fun scenes. I had postponed watching it for way too long!
