Review:
Tina Shepherd is a young girl with psychic powers when she unintentionally kills her father, when they lived at Crystal Lake.
Years later, she comes back to the house she used to live in with her parents, with her mother and her therapist who thinks it’s best to be at the place where her father died to discover what happened. Actually, doctor Crews only wants to discover more about the abilities Tina possesses. By having her experimenting, she unwillingly releases Jason Voorhees from his watery grave, Tommy left him in after his fight with Jason in ‘Jason lives’.
Next door a group of friends have come together for a surprise birthday party. But the birthday boy never arrives as he has an encounter with Jason. While waiting for Michael, the friends start enjoying each other’s company, making them perfect prey for Jason!
Tina meets one of the people next door, Nick, and together they discover Jason is back and try to stop him. But Jason is strong. Will Tina use her powers and be able to stop the vicious killer?

This movie can be seen as Carrie vs Jason, where a young woman with psychic and telekinetic abilities has to fight the supernatural powers of the serial killer from Crystal Lake, Jason Voorhees.
Initially they wanted to make a Friday the 13th vs A Nightmare on Elmstreet movie for years but this never came to fruition during the eighties. It happened in 2003 though (my review for that movie can be found on the blog via the link below)
Parts VI, VII and VIII are the movies in the franchise that explore the supernatural powers of the invincible killer. Even though they kill him almost at the end of every movie in these instalments, he seems to be able to survive and get resurrected every time by some outside force (lightning in Part VI, Tina’s powers in this one and electricity (again) in part VIII).
The reason I enjoyed these three the most from the entire franchise is because of the kills and the way Kane Hodder plays the part of Jason. He was in my opinion the best Jason Voorhees of all the actors portraying the role. Hodder’s presence is intimidating and fits perfectly for the role. So far, he has been the only one to play the part four times (this movie being the first one, Jason X being the last time)
