Review:

Still haunted by his past experience, five years ago, with the serial killer Jason Voorhees, he is sent to a secluded halfway house in the countryside. Shortly after his arrival one of the other mentally challenged people in the halfway house gets killed by another inhabitant. Somehow this triggers a new beginning in the Voorhees lore, and Tommy is smack in the middle of the horror. Has Tommy taken over the machete or is Jason really back?

This sequel, along with Jason goes to Hell (the ninth chapter), is very low in quality and storyline. It was meant to be the ‘Halloween 3’ of the Friday the 13th franchise, where Tommy Jarvis (who was played by Corey Feldman in the fourth instalment and has a little part at the start of this movie, a scene that foreshadows the next movie, btw!) was meant to be the killer, after the ominous ending of the previous movie.

But sometimes killers come from a whole different stock and this movie kind of changes everything that was created in the franchise ever since the second movie came out and Jason had a part as the viscous killer. I can already spoil that this is the second time there is no Jason in the movie!

I didn’t quite like this one. All in all the entire franchise is not lying favourite horror franchise. Especially since a little of sequels are just copies of each other, with the only difference being the inventive kills.

This was the first one that didn’t immediately follow the storyline from the previous movie, skipping five years and not starting where the movie that preceded it ended.

Lucky for me, the next one in the series was way better!
