Synopsis:

A wealthy recluse hosts four accomplished guests at his stylish mansion for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but their intrigue soon turns into terror.

Review:

This may well be the best episode of this season (and the first one ‘Lot 36’).

The 1979 setting ànd vibe of the episode made it very enjoyable to watch, this combined with the eerie/weird sci-fi seventies/eighties music and Peter Weller made for a great hour of creepiness.

When four strangers, each an expert in his or her field of knowledge, are invited by a recluse rich man who wants to show them something in the utmost secrecy. Before they get to see the item, they are offered their favourite drinks and a selection of the best drugs. (Here the story loses me a little bit)

After some bantering, they are shown to the item, a spacerock! But before they get to figure out what it actually is, the thing breaks open and reveals its secret!

This definitely is the best thing of Cabinet of Curiosities and comes close to what Twilight Zone or Creepshow brought its audience as well.
