A joke, that’s what starts this story. A joke about a man who has a string of bad luck. A joke told from one friend to another, while pointing a gun to that friend.

Life is hard when your life is one misfortunate event after another, when that one friend you’re friends with for over twenty years, has all the luck in the world!

And then you just snap! Your children die and your wife leaves you and you’re all alone and a strange rash on your stomach turns into a cancerous thing inside your belly you name Henry. And it’s Henry that tells you it’s your friend sucking all the luck out of you. So what do you do? You retaliate and you seek vengeance, hence the gun!

But as always, the story is never what it seems! The world is never fair! And friends aren’t always friendly!

This was something else! Never knew a short story could have so many twists and turns! I didn’t really know Jason Mott’s name but I’m about to go and look for more work from the man based on this little tale!
