Synopsis:
After trying to kill Mark Hoffman, Jill Tuck goes into protective custody. Detective Matt Gibson agrees to take her into protective custody once she signs an affidavit, revealing that Mark Hoffman is the new Jigsaw Killer. Meanwhile, Bobby Dagen, a self-proclaimed Jigsaw Survivor, is put through his own series of tests, where he must save both his friends and his wife.
Review:
This movie starts with a flashback to what happened to Dr. Gordon after he escaped the famous bathroom in the first movie. Leaving that there we are witness to a whole bunch of new traps. The first one being two guys and a girl who can leave their ordeal by killing one of them. Saws are about to begin tearing them apart, unless one of them is sacrificed.
Then de switch to a survivor of the Jigsaw Killer who made his life by witnessing his ordeal. Even at groups where survivors meet he is the one taking control. But then Jigsaw captures him and his friends and love. Jigsaw is mad about the fact that he is lying about his former ordeal as he fabricated it only to be able to earn money from it.
His real challenge is only beginning now! Will he save his friends and his partner?
Jill asks for protected custody after she tried to kill Hoffman, who escaped the reverse bear trap. But Hoffman has some more tricks up his sleeve.
This was to be the final chapter in the saw series. But as with all successful franchises they couldn’t let it go and well… a few more sequels followed of course (the final one to date being Saw X who will release in September ‘23)
This one is not my favourite Saw movie but due to the several plot twists and the finalising of certain storylines (and how they managed to go about it) still made for a great movie (hence still an 8/10) and we finally get to see who the addressee was of the envelope Jill Tuck gave to and what was in it!
I saw this in 3D first at home but my 3D-tv broke a few years ago and now I’m not able to see it anymore in that format (as they no longer sell those tv’s anymore)… pity!
