Synopsis:
Longing to fit in at work, awkward Stacey begins to use a popular lotion that causes an alarming reaction, while an unnerving transformation takes shape.
Review:
Oh wow, the introverted girl from The Bog Bang Theory that dated Raj is together with the satanist from Silicon Valley in this episode.
Now for this episode… what can I say about it…
It’s al about shallowness and the way people look at you and the way you perceive yourself. As the ugly duckling Stacey doesn’t really fit in in any group. And she wants to. Especially with her female colleagues at the bank she works at. But she’s not rich, nor very beautiful and especially the odd one out. The other women gossip and talk and never stop commenting on other people.
When Stacey’s invited to a Secret Santa party she’s the only one bringing a gift and it is Gina who is giving all the other women the same gift: a new kind of skin creme. All are excited but Stacey. When she tries it out she reacts allergically to the creme.
And that is when she starts hearing the tv talk to her, telling her to use more of the creme, that it will change her forever!
Even though there is a clear message in the episode it is the worst of the ones I’ve seen so far in this anthology. The execution is done poorly as well as the (over)acting. Pity because there were some real great actors in here.
So yes, not too much more I can tell… but one thing: you are all beautiful! So don’t listen to the others!
