I remember the day this movie was announced an my heart was beating so fast and so hard because finally a new Jurassic Park movie was being released… yaaay! And seeing it in theatres was so fulfilling! New dinos and some old acquaintances (Rexie ❤️) and a new batch of velociraptors… and this time they were house trained?
At the time they announced this movie I was going to Hawaii and was so hoping to see a crew there. Unfortunately they had already finished filming on the island and were doing studio work by that time. We did visit the ranch where the first movie was filmed so bonus!!!
So yes, the dinos were back after fourteen years. And this time the park was open and flourishing! Two new kids visit the park only to end up in chaos and mayhem due to the escape of genetically created hybrid dino, the Indominus Rex. A vicious and huge predator that is only killing for sports and not only for food!

This movie is right up my alley. I adore these movie, I really do! Growing up with Spielberg’s original movie and then this new movie came out… I felt like a fourteen year old again… And the movie offers a few winks to the original and to the author of Jurassic Park m, Michael Crichton: Ian Malcolm’s book (Zara is reading it on the monorail and you can see its reflection), Michael Crichton’s picture (when talking to Lowery early on in the movie), the old visitor’s center ànd jeep and of course BD Wong is back!

And then there’s the score by Michael Giacchino who took over from John Williams and made his complete own sound for these movies. There could not have been a worthier successor!
Hold on to your butts, because we’re about to embark a trip to The Fallen Kingdom after this one!
