Synopsis:

Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

Review:

Ten years have past since the last killer stalked Sydney, Gale and Dewey. And not that Sydney is back in Woodsboro, the killings start all over!

And this movie makes fun of sequels, remakes and reboots, while this was meant to be a sequel ànd a reboot at the same time, so how meta (they even make fun of that word as well!) can it get! This is typical Wes Craven! (He did the same with his New Nightmare)

A new cast of teens are on the killing slab and we even get some cameos by a few actresses playing in the movie-in-a-movie-within-a-movie (almost Inception-like!).

It’s also funny to see how ten years of marriage between Gale and Dewey shows them not matching together but they still love each other! And the fall from grace of Gale Weathers is hard on her. So a new story could make her big again but how far will she go?

All the elements of a real Scream movie and the final say in the franchise by the late Wes Craven (unfortunately) but definitely not the end of the series all together, as eleven years later we get a new instalment in a new trilogy(?)
