Synopsis:

In 1938, two years after the quest for the precious item in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), bullwhip-wielding archaeologist Indiana Jones risks life and limb searching for his missing father, Professor Henry Jones. And picking up where the estranged parent left off while searching for the Holy Grail, Indy visits Venice, Italy. Then, a faint trail of clues sends the intrepid adventurer to cold Austria, where he encounters the statuesque archaeologist Dr Elsa Schneider. But a dangerous run-in with vicious SS commander Colonel Ernst Vogel spells trouble. Because, more than anything, the power-obsessed megalomaniac is bent on finding the location of the sacred artefact at all costs. This time, there is much at risk. In this high-stakes mission, are two Joneses better than one?

Review:

Speaking of favourites… This is definitely my favourite Indiana Jones movie! The chemistry between Sean Connery and Harrison Ford in this movie is just epic! (They could well be real father and son!)

The nazis are back! This time they are looking for the ‘Holy Grail’ who grants eternal life! So Indiana Jones, Marcus Brody, Salah and of course Jones senior will have to anything they can to stop them!

This movie is the funniest of the entire franchise and is the one I often reiterate and quote from. The Venice library scene (with the ‘loud’ stamp), the love interest of both Jones’, the Austrian castle and the fireplace (Allaaaarm!), Brody abroad and the epic tank fight (“Henry, the pen ís mightier than the sword!”) are some of the best cinematic moments Spielberg has ever brought us (and he has brought us some amazing movies so…)

I just love rewatching this movie!

Of course, this movie wouldn’t be half as good without the epic soundtrack provided by Spielberg’s favourite composer: John Williams! Often I put on spotify and listen to this soundtrack!

After this movie was released we had to wait 19(!) years until Indiana Jones would come back to the big screen. It never lived up to the success ‘Crusade’ has given us but a new Indiana movie is always a treat in my honest opinion!
